AETHER ECHOES: The Theremin Science
celebrates the historical invention and contemporary influence of Leon Theremin and his hands-off reverberating theremin instrument. Part children's book and part creative “how-to”, the book illustrates the mechanical principals for theremin operation as well as recognizes the profound effect the theremin has had on synthesized and ambient music. The visual language of the book aims to give the reader a fantastical sense of what the theremin sound LOOKS like, embracing and combining references to 1920s Art Deco and modern digital media-player screen-savers and/or visualizers.
